Kamikuroiwa - Kumanoza Shrine (about 40 minutes, free activity)
Kamikuroiwa - Kumanoza Shrine is located in Aso, Kumamoto Prefecture. Climbing along the worship path lined with nearly 100 lanterns, you seem to enter another fantastic world. It is also famous for being the setting of the famous comic works ("Hotarubi no Mori e" and "Natsume's Book of Friends"), attracting many tourists from all over the world.
Kamikuroiwa - Kumanoza Shrine mainly enshrines Izanagi-no-Mikoto, Izanami-no-Mikoto and Ishigami Daishogun. The famous Chuanduyan here is said to be a ten-foot hole kicked by the demon Hachiboshi to escape from the pursuit of Aso Great God. Nowadays, it has become one of the attractions where worshipers absorb the energy of nature. The sacred tree Naegi in the shrine has no veins on its leaves and is not easy to break when pulled horizontally, symbolizing the perfection of lovers and good relationships in work. Therefore, many people come here to pray for marriage and business prosperity.
Chuanduyan
Above the shrine hall, there is a large wind cave (Chuanduyan) said to be kicked through by the demon Hachiboshi, a follower of Kenzanryu-no-Mikoto. The length and width are more than 10 meters. The large wind cave penetrates the huge rock. Therefore, "Chuanduyan" is a symbol that even the most difficult goals can be achieved and is said to ensure "success in passing exams".

The origin of Japanese mythology - "Amanoiwato Shrine" & "Amanoyasukawara" (about 70 minutes, free activity, free ice cream is provided in July, August and September)
Amanoiwato Shrine
Amanoiwato Shrine, famous for making wishes by piling stones on Tenno River Plain, is located in Takachiho Town, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture. This shrine enshrines Amano Iwato with gods attached to it and is known as a holy place with great energy for healing the body and mind and improving fortune. There are an endless stream of worshipers coming to seek the protection of the gods for the imperial seal and amulets. According to Japanese mythology (Kojiki, Nihon Shoki), this is the holy land in the legend of Amano Iwato. The shrine is divided into Nishihongu and Higashihongu. The main gods enshrined in the two shrine halls are both Amaterasu Omikami. Nishihongu is the cave where Amaterasu Omikami hid and is regarded as the object of worship (the divine body). Nearby is the legendary large cave. Amaterasu Omikami hid in Amano Iwato, and the world was plunged into darkness. Eight million gods gathered on the river plain to discuss how to lure her out. The other gods, who were worried, deliberately let Ame-no-Uzume dance outside the cave, making the gods laugh. The lively atmosphere made Amaterasu curious about the appearance of the new god. She peeked out through the opened rock crack. At this time, the gods carried out the divine mirror. Amaterasu Omikami saw her own appearance and was immediately overjoyed. She came out of Amano Iwato and the earth regained light.
Amanoyasukawara
It is said that making a wish by piling stones here can fulfill the wish, so many people have piled up wishing stone towers.

Takachiho Gorge (about 80 minutes, free activity, including lunch time. Please pay for lunch and other ticket fees by yourself)
Takachiho Gorge is a valley formed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Aso in ancient times. It is characterized by cliffs on both sides and the Manaoi Falls with a drop of 17 meters. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there are also three bridges built across the same canyon, which is also the beauty of Takachiho Gorge.
Take a leisurely stroll in Takachiho Gorge
There is a walking path about 1 kilometer long beside Takachiho Gorge. It takes about 20 minutes to walk one way. The overall slope is relatively gentle and it is an easy walking route. In addition, there are many must-see spots of Takachiho Gorge gathered beside this walking path.
① "Manaoi Falls", one of the 100 selected waterfalls in Japan
The well-known waterfall "Manaoi Falls" selected as one of the 100 selected waterfalls in Japan can be said to be the symbol of Takachiho Gorge. According to the myth, the god named Amatsumura Kumo-no-Mikoto moved the water seed here because of the lack of water in this place, which is now called "Amatsunamii". It is said that the water gushing out from the well became a waterfall and flowed down.
② Stone of Oni Yagachi's Power
In the legend of Takachiho, it is recorded that Oshikuni no Mikoto, the brother of Emperor Jimmu, defeated the evil Hachio and calmed this place. Since Hachio was proud of his great strength, he threw a huge stone at Oshikuni no Mikoto at that time, which is the "Stone of Oni Yagachi's Power". A huge shimenawa will be decorated on the 200-ton boulder. As the year-end ceremony of Takachiho Gorge, a new shimenawa will be hung every year.
③ "Takachiho Three Bridges" that feel three eras
Takachiho Three Bridges are located in the upstream area of Takachiho Gorge and are three arched bridges. Starting from the front, they are "Shinkyo" in the Taisho era, "Takachiho Bridge" in the Showa era and "Shinto Takachiho Bridge" in the Heisei era. Only in Takachiho Gorge can you see the scenery of three arched bridges built in one valley in Japan.
The oldest Shinkyo is made of stone, Takachiho Bridge is made of steel, and Shinto Takachiho Bridge is made of cement. The three bridges standing side by side can make people feel the atmosphere of different eras. Especially Shinkyo is integrated with the beautiful natural landscape and has a unique charm.
④ The rock wall "Fairy's Screen Rock" with a height of 70 meters
Standing high on the opposite side of the walking path is "Fairy's Screen Rock". Its main feature is that the columnar jointed rock wall looks like a screen. The beauty of the shape formed over tens of thousands of years, combined with a height of 70 meters, is full of power.
