Yufuin Onsen is voted the number one tourist destination among Japanese girls. Surrounded by mountains, it has a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, making people feel incredibly relaxed. Additionally, there are many delicious dessert shops in Yufuin Onsen that drive many women crazy. You can appreciate the beautiful scenery while savoring your taste buds, fully immersed in happiness. There are also many cafes in the area. You can find a cafe that you like, sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee.
The "sightseeing carriage" at Yufuin Onsen, which started over 30 years ago, has now become a well-known tourist attraction. The route starts at JR Yufuin Station, passes through Fuzanji Temple and Unagi Hime Shrine, and then returns to the station, taking about 60 minutes. The horses sway in the breeze as they graze. When you look at the beautiful rural scenery with Yufudake as the background, your mind will gradually relax and get rid of the daily hustle and bustle.
Yunotsubo Street is located at the foot of Yufudake. There are souvenir shops selling Oita specialties such as yuzu pepper and restaurants serving local delicacies such as fried chicken tempura on both sides of the street, attracting a constant stream of tourists. Additionally, the area near the Oita River, one street away, is a great walking destination. You can experience the beauty of the four seasons here and experience the unique rural atmosphere of Yufuin Onsen.
Kinrin Lake
Kinrin Lake. Finally, we visited the most famous Kinrin Lake in Yufuin Onsen. Kinrin Lake is located at the foot of Yufudake. Its original name was "Takehon Ike" or "Takege Ike. In 1884, a Confucian scholar named Mokurei Kuso, named it "Kinrin Lake" when he saw the golden fish scales shining in the sunset at the lake. Kinrin Lake has a diameter of approximately 400 meters and a depth of 2 meters. Hot springs flow from the west of the lake bottom and clear water flows from the east. The temperature difference between hot springs and clear water creates a foggy water surface when the temperature drops, creating a beautiful and mysterious secret realm. It 's an incredible lake. There is "Tenzo Shrine" located beside Kinrin Lake. The torii standing by the lake floats on the water. The hazy beauty created by the water mist creates a mysterious atmosphere and creates an imaginary space. When visiting Yufuin Onsen, you should take a walk along Kinrin Lake to experience its charm.
