You can see a variety of scenery throughout the year. In this vast grassland of 20,000 hectares, taking a leisurely walk on the green grassland, watching free cattle and sheep, and breathing the fresh air in the mountains can make you feel relaxed and refreshed, and give you the illusion of being in a fairyland.
Aso Volcano Museum
Facing the vast Kusasenri, the Aso Volcano Museum focuses on "Aso Volcano" and displays the topography, geology, animals, and plants of Aso. It preserves a wealth of fascinating materials related to the history of Aso Volcano. You can not only experience the formation process of Aso Volcano through a three-dimensional model, but also see valuable information about other volcanoes in Japan and the world. The museum's latest camera system also provides a live video of Nakadake Crater.

Aso Shrine is located on the northern side of Aso Mountain in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture. It is a shrine in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is a famous Shikinai Shrine (a well-known shrine), the first in Higo Province, and its former shrine rank was Kanpei Taisha (now listed in the Shrine Agency's Bekkaku Jinja). It is the main shrine for 450 Aso Shrines in Japan.
Aso Shrine has a history of 2,500 years. The main gods enshrined are 12 gods led by Kenkuninomikoto, the grandson of Emperor Jimmu and the founder of the history of Aso. It is considered a significant cultural asset of Japan.
14:10 Kumamoto
Kurokawa Onsen - a hot spring town with dreamy scenery and a lot of delicious food (about an hour and a half, free time, hot spring bathing fees are at your own expense).
Kumamoto has many natural hot springs, but none are as famous as Kurokawa Onsen. There are about 30 hot spring inns in this mountain town. The retro inns with a black-based color are neatly arranged and the scenery is quite impressive. The picturesque river flowing through the town, the thick vegetation, and the steam from the hot springs create a dreamlike view for tourists. The best thing about the hot spring town is the open-air baths that take advantage of the beautiful landscape. Each inn, surrounded by mountains, has its own unique open-air bath. Here, you can fully appreciate the natural scenery and hot springs.
In the "100 Selected Hot Springs in Japan" published by the Tourism Economy Newspaper in 2008, Kurokawa Onsen was ranked first in the "Atmosphere" category. In the "Michelin Guide Japan" in 2009, it was rated as a two-star hot spring area.
Retro street scenes and delectable desserts made from mountain vegetables.
This idyllic town is located in a green valley surrounded by clouds and mist. Even if you don't take a bath, you can still enjoy the pleasure of strolling here. Unlike other resort towns in Japan, Kurokawa Onsen still maintains its traditional simplicity, purity, and traditional style of the past, making people feel like they are in a paradise away from the glitz and noise of Japanese urban streets. The hot spring street not only has inns, but also has a variety of souvenir shops and dining places. From authentic Japanese cuisine made with a large amount of mountain vegetables to delicate and delicious desserts, all types of food are available here.
The healing effects of Kurokawa Onsen
The healing spring water of Kurokawa Onsen flows directly from the hot spring below. This hot spring has been popular for over 300 years. People believe that the natural hot spring water here is rich in minerals and has healing properties. Different hot spring waters have different mineral components, and it is said that each hot spring water has unique healing effects on the body.
The hot spring water from the underground is adjusted to a comfortable temperature for bathing, but guests may still feel that the temperature is too high. Most hot springs have lower temperature baths or outdoor baths, which are helpful for improving blood circulation. You can unwind, soak in various hot springs, and explore the town.
